Wall mouldings and other architectural mouldings can be grand, even imposing. But when used intelligently, wall mouldings can add great warmth and charm to even the most small and intimate of spaces. Bosley Mouldings offers designers, architects, and homeowners a huge inventory of moulding profiles and finishes that would look wonderful in a master bedroom, children's playroom, bathroom, or dressing room. Wall mouldings can be especially effective in cozy, intimate rooms. Crown and base mouldings can enlarge a room, giving it a stately feel, but wall mouldings bring it back down to earth (in a good way). Charming wall mouldings seem to "embrace" a room. They add texture and interest, turning antiseptic spaces into unique, very personal ones. Chair-rail mouldings are ideal wall mouldings for a playroom, dressing room, or other intimate space. They can create a pretty room division, similar to wainscoting. Imagine a children's playroom done in fanciful stripes and solids--or even patterns. Chair-rail mouldings can be used to separate the two wall treatments, bringing order to an otherwise chaotic design. For example, the lower third of a playroom's walls could be papered or painted in peppy stripes of spring green, lemon yellow, pale blue, and cream or white. A chair-rail moulding painted in one of these hues or finished in a simple wood stain would be nailed just above the stripes. Then another wall treatment could be created in the top two thirds of wall above the wall moulding. It could be painted with a whimsical mural, papered with either a calm neutral or riotous pattern (think sailboats or antique toys), or painted pale blue and adorned with a mural of fluffy, white clouds. The wall moulding would so successfully separate and organize the two contrasting wall treatments that just about any paint or pattern could be used.
